First, have your dog sit or lay down. Load up your Snuffle Mat, have your dog wait calmly while you do this. Feel free to spend a few minutes practicing, as this can be very hard at first and makes a perfect teaching opportunity for leave it or wait.


This will teach your dog patients, tolerance to frustration and calmness

 Place high-value treats (liver treats work great) within the fabric. It's a good idea to place a few treats on the top of the fabric, start easy. We want this to be a rewarding fun experience for them!

Release your dog using your release word, FREE, GO,  or TAKE IT, try to avoid using okay. Make sure your dog is in a calm state before releasing them. Teaching them to get rewarded for being CALM
